Effie's War (Mar)

In the Scottish Highlands in 1943, Effie Ross's father suddenly receives notice from the authorities that they must quite Kirk Farm. Given just one month to leave, they must harvest what they can and move or sell their livestock, and every other farm in the area has had the same instruction. For Effie it's a chance to get to know Toni, an Italian POW sent to help out on the farm. Based on real events when an entire Highland neighbourhood was cleared to allow preparations for one of the greatest secrets of the Second World War.
