Ruairidh and Niamh co-own the Hebridean company Ranish Tweed, but during a trip to Paris to promote their luxury brand Niamh learns that Ruairidh is having an affair, then looks on and he and his lover are killed by a car bomb. Heartbroken, she returns to Lewis and begins to look through her life with Ruairidh to try and identify anyone who may have held a grudge against him. Meanwhile the French police have identified their own prime suspect: Niamh. Together Niamh and Detective Sylie Braque draw ever closer to a deadly enemy with their own, deadly designs.
