Blending substantive yet accessible text with spectacular photography, the magic and mystery of one of Scotland's most loved islands is showcased in a stunning new book by Iain Kirk Campbell.

The largest and northernmost major island of the Inner Hebrides, Skye has been enchanting its visitors for centuries. With the recent exciting archaeological and palaeontological discoveries, and its increasingly high profile as a film location - Michael Fassbender's Macbeth being the latest - the time is right for a new book on one of the nation's most popular destinations.

Skye's varied landscape encompasses wild beaches, towering coastal cliffs, magical caves, revered mountain ranges, the Fairy Pools and Glen, and the picturesque harbourside 'capital' of Portree. These and many other facets of Skye are displayed in captivating full-page photographs.

Alongside the photographs, Campbell provides engaging and informative text on Skye's history, Celtic legends, archaeology and complex geology. Sections feature the famous Cuillin ranges, the imposing Trotternish Ridge, the bloody feuding of the dominant MacDonald and MacLeod clans, and how the island's story is told through remnants of the past layered upon its ancient landscape.

ICP Framebooks are conceived to allow the easy extraction of the many full page photographs for framing once the reader has enjoyed the book. To this end, there is no text on these pages, just a simple white border surrounding the high quality prints. If they prefer to keep their book intact, readers have the option to order prints from the author's website.

Born in Glasgow, Scottish author and photographer Iain Kirk Campbell has travelled extensively and lived in Mainland Europe, the Middle East and New Zealand. He has worked in publishing for over 20 years as a photographer, designer and author. A keen walker and mountain biker, throughout his life he has felt a strong connection to the landscape, particularly to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Campbell's first book in the ICP Framebook series, which you can find here, profiles the Outer Hebridean islands of Barra and Vatersay, where his father's family came from. This second book captures an island loved the world over.

This new book will be published at the end of March and distributed to trade customers exclusively by Lomond. Be sure to get your order in place to receive stock as soon as it becomes available! Find the product page here.
